Two DVD set. All you need is a basic knowledge of the fretboard and a nylon string guitar to experience the power and passion of flamenco. Along with history, terminology and technique you’ll learn four of the most important flamenco forms: Tangos, a dance rhythm similar to the sounds made by the Gypsy Kings; Alegrias, a lighter more uplifting style; Bulerias an exciting form elaborated by Sabicas, Paco de Lucia, and others; and Soleares, the “mother of all flamenco forms.” You’ll learn basic compas (rhythmic feel), strumming and picking techniques such as rasgueado, abanico and picado, develop tone and rhythmic power, and create improvisational melodies (falsetas). 41 pages of note/tab included as either booklet or PDF file on the disc. 3 hrs. 30 min.
